About Garden House Cooperative Society
Garden House Cooperative Society is seeking hardworking, disciplined and reliable individuals to work as General Workers at its poultry farm. The successful candidates will support both poultry-farming activities and chicken-processing operations.
Key Responsibilities
The General Workers will be responsible for:
- Feeding chickens and providing clean drinking water.
- Cleaning poultry houses, feeding equipment and surrounding areas.
- Monitoring the general condition and behaviour of the chickens.
- Assisting with the receiving, handling and movement of chickens.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at the farm.
- Slaughtering and dressing chickens.
- Plucking, cleaning and preparing processed chickens.
- Deboning and cutting chicken according to production requirements.
- Weighing, packaging and labelling chicken products.
- Cleaning and sanitising processing equipment, tools and work areas.
- Loading, unloading and arranging poultry products and supplies.
- Following food-safety, biosecurity and workplace-safety procedures.
- Performing any other reasonable duties assigned by the Farm Supervisor or Management.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should:
- Have at least a Grade 7 or Grade 9 education.
- Be physically fit and able to perform manual work.
- Be willing and able to handle live chickens and participate in chicken slaughtering, deboning and packaging.
- Be willing to live in shared accommodation provided at the farm.
- Be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
- Be honest, disciplined, punctual and hardworking.
- Be able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
- Have no difficulty working in a poultry-farming and meat-processing environment.
Previous experience in poultry farming, chicken processing, meat handling, food production or general farm work will be an added advantage but is not compulsory.
Employment Conditions
Monthly salary of K1,000.
Shared accommodation will be provided at the poultry farm.
Employees will be expected to comply with all farm rules, hygiene standards, biosecurity requirements and health-and-safety procedures.
Successful applicants may be required to undergo a medical fitness assessment before commencing work.
