Responsibilities or duties

1. Survey Design and Execution

Design geophysical survey programs tailored to specific geological settings and exploration stages (IP, resistivity, magnetic, gravity, EM, GPR).

Prepare detailed survey plans, including line layouts, equipment needs, personnel requirements and budget estimates.

Oversee field acquisition of data, ensuring adherence to quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) protocols.

Work with contractors or in-house crews to ensure surveys are completed efficiently and safely under variable terrain and weather conditions.

2. Data Processing and Interpretation

Process raw geophysical data using industry-standard tools (e.g., Oasis Montaj, Res2DInv, VOXI, Mag3D, EM1DFM).

Conduct 2D and 3D inversion modelling to resolve subsurface structures, lithologies, alteration zones and disseminated mineralization.

Interpret geophysical anomalies in the context of regional and local geology, integrating with mapping, sampling, drilling and remote sensing data.

Use interpretation results to generate detailed maps, cross-sections and 3D models for reporting and strategic planning.

3. Target Generation and Exploration Support

Identify and prioritize prospective targets for follow-up exploration, trenching or drilling based on multi-disciplinary data.

Assist in designing drill programs based on geophysical models and provide in-field geophysical support during execution (e.g. downhole logging, borehole IP).

Reassess geophysical models based on drilling outcomes and update interpretations to refine targeting strategies.

4. Innovation and Technology Application

Evaluate and apply new or emerging geophysical technologies and analytical techniques suitable for hard-rock gold and copper environments.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of exploration methods through R&D, pilot programs and knowledge transfer.

5. Project and Team Management

Supervise junior geophysicists, geologists, field technicians and support staff ensuring effective training and task delegation.

Manage contractors and vendors to ensure survey objectives, timelines and safety standards are met.

Maintain detailed logs and records of field activities, processing workflows, interpretations, and project costs.

6. Health, Safety, Environment, and Community (HSEC)

Ensure all geophysical activities comply with company policies and Zambian mining regulations regarding safety and environmental protection.

Identify and mitigate field risks by conducting hazard assessments and safety briefings.

Support respectful engagement with local communities and ensure minimal disruption during exploration activities.

7. Reporting and Communication

Prepare clear and concise technical reports including figures, maps, interpretations etc.

Present findings to internal stakeholders including the exploration team, executive leadership, and potential JV partners or investors.

Support documentation for resource estimation reports and regulatory submissions (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101).

Maintain regular communication with geologists, GIS analysts, drilling supervisors and senior management.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently in remote field environments and manage multiple tasks.

Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills across diverse technical and cultural teams.
