JOB DETAILS:
Zambia Seed Company Limited (ZAMSEED) is an agricultural input provider whose Headquarters are in Zambia. Its main objective is to develop, produce and market high quality seed of all agricultural as well as horticultural crops of major importance. Zamseed has experienced growth since a change in ownership and is expanding its business across all major crop producing regions on the African continent. The company is looking to recruit an experienced leader who will drive this vision.
The company is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Group Chief Executive Officer.

Key Activities And Responsibilities
1. Senior Executive Experience
• 10+ years senior management experience in Africa of which 5+ years should have been in a leadership position (CEO/MD)
• Strong track record driving business growth
• Management at scale, $25m+ turnover
• Sales and marketing track record
• Leadership of large (+200 staff) and diverse teams
• East African experience
2. Seed industry experience
• Minimum five years’ senior management experience in the seed industry
3. Financial experience.
• A strong understanding of accounting, financial management, working capital management, fund raising and cash flow management.
4. Smallholder Farmer Experience
• Experience working in agricultural businesses which interacts with smallholder farmers on a significant scale to either distribute/sell inputs or to be an off-taker for smallholder farmer production

Qualifications and Attributes
• Master’s degree in financial, Commercial, or Agriculture related disciplines. A PhD will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrated success in culture change/ legacy change initiatives as a leader.
• Excellent understanding of Zambian and Global economic environments.
• Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision.
• An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
• Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
