Job Description
Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit highly committed employee for the position of Human Resource Administrative Assistant – LEP (Fixed-Term) to join the versatile Expansion Project Department. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Senior Human Resource Officer – LEP, you will be responsible to provide HR administrative support for the whole HR function (i.e. Recruitment, induction, employee relations, HR policies, performance management) and oversee day-to-day various HR-related activities and tasks to support operational excellence.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with HR projects and initiatives as required
- Support the organization of company events and activities
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Assist in the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, application screening, interview coordination
- Maintain and update employee records on HR Information system with accurate data
- Provide administrative support on performance management processes
- Handle employee relations, addressing concerns, grievances, and conflict resolution
- Monitor employee attendance, leave management, and payroll processing support
- Organize training and capacity-building programs to enhance staff development
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and HR best practices
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Respond to HR queries from staff
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration or related field
- Minimum two years’ experience in Human Resource Administration
- Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management
- Understanding of Zambian Labor Laws and employment legislation
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
- Eager to learn and develop HR skills

Setting and maintaining systematic register of all files for accountability purposes. Managing filing systems and classification of documents. Obtaining, sorting, classifying, and registering records in a timely manner. Coordinating filing activities in various departments Monitoring and managing inflow and outflow of files from the storage units. Following up on delayed or missing files/correspondence. Responding to information enquiries from user departments and giving them appropriate access to information based on a “need to know” basis. Preparing relevant monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc records management reports. To coordinate document flow during audit activities with both internal (SOX) and external auditors.

Full Grade 12 Certificate. Minimum 2 years of professional experience in systems and records management Bachelor’s degree in information management, Records and Archive’s management, Library and information systems, or related field Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis Experience creating and maintaining data management systems using Excel Strong understanding of digital preservation best practices Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Member of Zambian Archives and Records Management Association (ZARMA) / Library and Information Association (IAZ)

About the Team
The Lumwana copper mine is a conventional open pit (truck and shovel) operation. It’s located about 100 kilometers west of Solwezi in Zambia’s Copperbelt — one of the most prospective copper regions in the world. Lumwana ore, which is predominantly sulfide, is treated through a conventional sulfide flotation plant, producing copper concentrate.
