Human Resource Assistant
Location: Luanshya, Zambia
Company: Goldenlay Agri Ltd

Goldenlay Agri Ltd is the largest producer, supplier, and distributor of table eggs across Zambia, with a brand well-known to both retailers and consumers. We are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to join our team in the position of Human Resource Assistant.

Overall Purpose of the Position

To support the Human Resource Manager in the efficient running of the HR department, with a particular focus on maintaining and updating employee records, supporting HR functions, and ensuring compliance with HR procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems for employee records (both historical and current).
  • HR Information Systems: Timely updates of the HRMIS for new hires, terminations, leave, and related entries.
  • Attendance Management: Prepare attendance registers for departments, update personalized leave registers, and monitor attendance records.
  • Recruitment & Selection: Coordinate recruitment processes including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, and onboarding. Ensure all recruitment documentation is maintained.
  • Induction & Onboarding: Conduct employee inductions, issue contracts on time, and support new employees’ integration.
  • Employee Relations: Assist in handling grievances and disciplinary matters, including conducting investigations, attending hearings, and maintaining records.
  • Performance Management: Support HODs in preparing appraisal templates and maintaining performance records quarterly.
  • Training & Development: Conduct induction training and maintain employee training records.
  • Reporting: Assist with HR monthly and quarterly reports. Act as HR Manager in their absence.
  • Other Duties: Carry out any additional duties as requested by management.Key Expectations

  • Sound understanding of Zambian Labour Laws and HR best practices.Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management from a recognized university.
  • Membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant HR work experience.
  • Prior experience in the agriculture sector will be an added advantage.
