The Conservation farming Unit (CFU) is a local non-governmental organisation whose mission is to provide small and medium scale farmers with practical experience and knowledge on conservation agriculture through provision of extension services. It also advocates for adoption of conservation farming and agroforestry among smallholder farmers as a way of mitigating and ensuring resilience against the effects of climate.

The CFU is currently implementing The Capacity Building for Women and Youths in Climate Resilience Agriculture and Agroforestry Project and is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals or organisations to carry out an Impact assessment of the project.

Location: Situmbeko, Kabile Ward, Katuba Constituency, Chibombo District
Funding: Global Environment Facility (GEF-SGP) in collaboration with UNDP
Implemented by: Conservation Farming Unit

Background
The project aims to enhance the capacity of women and youth in climate-smart agriculture and agroforestry practices. This initiative is crucial for promoting sustainable agricultural methods and
improving the resilience of local communities to climate change.

Purpose of the EOI
We invite qualified consultants and organizations to submit expressions of interest to conduct a comprehensive impact assessment of the aforementioned project. The assessment will evaluate the effectiveness, outcomes, and sustainability of the project initiatives.

Scope of Work
The selected consultant will be expected to:

  • Design and implement a robust impact assessment framework.
  • Collect and analyze data on project outcomes.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather qualitative feedback.
  • Prepare a comprehensive report detailing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience in conducting impact assessments, particularly in agriculture or climate- related projects.
  • Knowledge of climate-smart agriculture and agroforestry practices.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to engage with local communities and stakeholders.
