Background
AOS LTD is a Service Provider that was established from the Joint Venture between the Government of Rwanda and Korea Telecom and is incorporated under the laws and regulations of the Republic of Rwanda. The company is engaged in the business of providing advanced Information and Communication Technology (“ICT”) services based on a state-of-the-art Data Center, System development and Integrations, e-Government projects implementation and Consulting among others.
In order to effectively accomplish its business objectives, AOS Ltd is looking for qualified and competent candidates to support its business operation.
Position: In-house Counsel
Roles and Responsibilities
The in-house counsel is responsible for legal related matters of the company.
• Lead legal corresponding activities for legal related matters of the company.
Review and provide legal consultation for all kind of contracts and partnerships with vendors and subcontractors and examine legal issues related to new products and services.
Prepare the appropriate legal documents for trial or court proceedings and adhere to a consistent schedule of hearings, court appearances, and case related conferences.
• Develop, review, update and manage policies of the company.
• Guide management on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure compliance with legal regulations.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings and protect the company against legal risks and violations
• Participate shareholders meeting and board meeting, and draft and manage documents for the meeting.
• Conduct other supporting activities for the request of the management.
• Negotiate deals on behalf of the company.
• Research and anticipate legal risks.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following skill sets:
• At the least, more than 3 years of legal consultation experience,
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in local laws and regulations,
• Good understanding of ICT industry,
• Good working attitude and integrity.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
• Highly analytical with a strong attention to detail and independent in decision making
• Outstanding managerial and negotiation skills.
Education/ Experience
• Bachelors or master’s degree of law (LLB),
• Possess DLP from Institute of Legal Practise and Development
• Should be licensed to practise law in Rwanda.
