Background
Brooke Consultancy Limited is seeking qualified and safety-oriented professionals for multiple full-time mining jobs in Chililabombwe, Copperbelt, Zambia. As an Instrumentation Technician within the Engineering Maintenance department, you will install, calibrate, maintain, and repair instrumentation and process control systems vital to mining and processing equipment performance. Reporting to the Instrumentation Supervisor, your role will ensure operational safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities for Instrumentation Technician Jobs in Chililabombwe
Install, inspect, calibrate, and maintain field instrumentation and control systems.
Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation, including PLC, SCADA, DCS, and automated control systems.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
Maintain control valves, transmitters, sensors, and measuring instruments.
Interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, and electrical schematics accurately.
Adhere to mine safety protocols such as Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and Permit-to-Work systems.
Prepare detailed maintenance reports and keep records updated.
Participate in plant shutdowns, equipment commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering (Instrumentation), Industrial Electronics, or related disciplines.
At least three years of experience in mining or heavy industrial environments.
Familiarity with PLC, SCADA, DCS, and process control systems is advantageous.
