JOB DETAILS:
Background:
• Nathan is implementing the USAID Zambia Revenue for Growth Project (R4G) which supports the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) in its efforts to improve domestic revenue mobilization and expand the fiscal space for public spending and investments in service delivery and poverty reduction. R4G engages both government and non-government stakeholders to build capacity in tax policy analysis, improve tax compliance and administration, and strengthen the tax culture in a manner that facilitates private sector growth and accountability relationships between taxpayers and the GRZ.
• R4G is seeking up to two interns to perform the key tasks listed below. This is a full-time, six-month paid position which reports directly to R4G’s Chief of Party and designated R4G staff. The Intern will gain practical experience in various areas, including communications, project management, human resources, monitoring and evaluation, procurement and finance. The Intern will provide support to different teams and contribute to the successful implementation of project activities.

Intern Key Tasks:
The Intern will perform the following key tasks.
• Review and revise technical reports for accuracy and quality, including spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax.
• Collaborate with team members to update and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and project-related communications.
• Assist in coordinating project-related logistics, such as travel arrangements, accommodations, and procurement of project materials.
• Assist in drafting HR communications, such as job postings, employee announcements, and policy updates.
• Assist in organizing meetings and HR events, including scheduling, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and distributing meeting materials.
• Assist in developing data collection tools and methodologies, including surveys, questionnaires, and interview guides.
• Support the preparation of progress reports, evaluation reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support knowledge management efforts by organizing and maintaining the M&E database, documentation, and other relevant resources.
• Assist in the procurement process, including researching potential suppliers, obtaining quotes, and preparing purchase orders, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
• Assist in the creation of communication products.
• Monitor selected media outlets.
• Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including filing, scanning, and organizing HR documents.
• Research technical tax and tax-related issues as requested.
• Assist in inventory stock taking.
• Provide assistance on other tasks as requested.
All tasks will be conducted in Lusaka unless otherwise directed.

Qualifications & Skills:
The Intern is expected to possess the following qualifications and skills:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong writing, proofreading/editing and research skills.
• Mastery of spelling, grammar and punctuation errors and ability to make constructive suggestions.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Motivated, proactive, reliable and able to prioritize a varied workload and meet deadlines.
