JOB DETAILS:

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Driving & Safety: Operate commercial vehicles for long-distance, cross-border trips, adhere strictly to traffic laws and road safety regulations, and prioritize the safety of the public. 
• Cargo Management: Safely load, secure, and unload goods, ensuring the integrity and quality of the cargo throughout the journey. 
• Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, report any mechanical issues, and perform minor maintenance as needed. 
• Documentation & Customs: Complete and maintain all required logs, timesheets, and shipping documents, and ensure compliance with international customs regulations. 
• Route Navigation: Plan efficient routes, navigate unfamiliar territories, and manage unexpected obstacles or delays effectively. 

Requirements 

• Driver's License: A valid professional driver's license, often specific to heavy-duty vehicles (e.g., Code D.G. for cross-border routes in Zambia).
• Passport: A valid international passport.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience as a cross-border truck driver.
• Certificates: Valid police clearance certificates and medical fitness certificates.
• References: Traceable references from previous employers.
