Okavango Foods Limited, a leading food production company supplying supermarkets, hotels, and lodges across Zambia, is seeking a passionate and proactive HR Intern to join our team for a 6-month internship.

This internship offers hands-on experience in human resources, working directly with our HR Consultant to support daily operations and strategic HR initiatives, including managing staff KPIs to drive performance and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in recruitment activities, including shortlisting and scheduling interviews.
  • Maintain and update employee records in both physical and digital formats.
  • Support onboarding and induction of new staff.
  • Assist in organizing training and development programs.
  • Help ensure compliance with company HR policies and Zambian labor laws.
  • Assist in tracking, updating, and reporting on staff KPIs for all departments.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure KPI data is accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare HR-related reports and documentation as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Final-year student or recent graduate in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Registered member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) – attach proof of membership.
  • Strong understanding of HR metrics and performance management is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Zambian labor laws is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Must live in Woodlands or the surrounding areas.

Internship Details

  • Duration: 6 months (with possibility of further engagement based on performance).
  • Monthly stipend provided.
  • Must be Lusaka-based and available to start immediately.
