The company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Inventory Management & Procurement Planning Officer.
This role is responsible for ensuring strict inventory control, effective procurement planning, SAP system integrity, and coordinated logistics dispatch operations. The successful candidate will serve as a key interface between operational departments and Procurement, ensuring timely material availability and seamless outbound planning.
This is a hands-on, systems-intensive role requiring strong SAP expertise, high analytical capability, and the ability to independently manage inventory and logistics processes.
Responsibilities or duties
Inventory Control & Accuracy
- Maintain strict control over all inventory (consumables, spares, agro-chemicals, operational supplies).
- Conduct reconciliations, cycle counts, and coordinate periodic stock takes.
- Monitor and manage minimum/maximum levels and drive replenishment planning.
- Investigate, report, and resolve stock variances.
- Generate accurate inventory and consumption reports for management.
Procurement Planning & Liaison
- Scrutinize and validate procurement requisitions for correctness and specification accuracy.
- Liaise proactively with Procurement on order progress, urgent requirements, and delivery schedules.
- Track open orders and ensure departments are updated on expected timelines.
- Support forward planning of procurement requirements based on usage trends.
Logistics Planning & Dispatch Coordination
- Plan and coordinate outbound dispatch operations.
- Ensure all dispatch documentation and SAP entries are accurate and timely.
- Coordinate truck scheduling and movement to ensure operational efficiency.
- Monitor dispatch volumes and compliance with safety procedures.
SAP & Systems Management
- Capture all stock movements in SAP (GRNs, issues, returns, transfers, dispatches).
- Ensure complete system integrity and real-time stock accuracy.
- Generate analytical reports for stock optimization and decision-making.
- Quickly adapt to internal systems and drive continuous process improvement.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Minimum Requirements (Strictly Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience using SAP (inventory and procurement modules).
- Strong understanding of stock control principles, planning, and ERP-driven processes.
- Valid practicing license from professional body i.e. ZIPS/CIPS
- Zaqa validated certificates

- Attention to detail and system accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure in an operational environment
Experience needed
- Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in inventory management, procurement coordination, and logistics planning.
