CONSTRUCTION OF TWO (2) 1x2 DOMITORIES FOR BOYS/GIRLS AND TWO (2) ABLUTION BLOCKS AT SHANGOMBO SECONDRY SCHOOL AND TWO (2) 1x2 DOMITORIES FOR BOYS/GIRLS AND TWO (2) ABLUTION BLOCKS AT NATUKOMA SECONDARY SCHOOL IN SHANGOMBO DISTRICT

The Council has received funding from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development under the 2022 allocation of the Constituency Development Fund for Shangombo Constituency to undertake works for the construction of two (2) dormitories for boys and girls and two (2) ablution blocks at Shangombo Secondary School (Lot 1) and two (2) dormitories for boys and girls and two (2) ablution blocks at Natukoma Secondary School (Lot 2) in Shangombo District.

The Council intends to use part of the funds to cover eligible payments for the aforementioned works in Shangombo District of Western Province for which this Invitation for Bids is issued.

The Council now invites sealed bids from firms registered with the National Council for Construction in Category B or C, Grade 5 or 6 and possessing valid tax clearance certificate issued by the Zambia Revenue Authority to submit bids to undertake the construction works as stated hereabove.

Eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Procurement and Supplies Unit and inspect the bidding documents at the Civic Centre, Shangombo. The mobile phone numbers for any contacts are 0977692132 and 0977410146. Telegraphic or telefax bids will not be accepted.

The bidding documents may be obtained by bidders from the Procurement and Supplies Unit upon payment of a non-refundable fee of One Thousand Kwacha (K1000) cash or by bank certified cheque.

Bids shall be valid for a period of ninety (90) days after bid opening and must be accompanied by a bid security of 2% of the bid price. They shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders as contained in the bidding document. All bids in sealed envelopes clearly marked as follows shall be deposited in the tender box placed at the Reception, Civic Centre, Matebele Road, Shangombo on or before 10" January 2023 at 10 00 hours and any bids received after the said time and date will not be accepted:-

Lot 1 - Tender for Construction of Two (2) 1x2 Dormitories for Boys and Girls and Two (2) Ablution Blocks at Shangombo Secondary School; and

Lot 2 - Tender for Construction of Two (2) 1x2 Dormitories for Boys and Girls and Two (2) Ablution Blocks at Narukoma Secondary School.

Submission Procedure

The bids will be opened soon after closing in the Council Chamber, Civic Centre, Shangombo in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend.

Note that mandatory site visits will be undertaken on Thursday 22 December 2022 at 09 00 and 14 30 hours at Shangombo and Natukoma Secondary Schools, respectively.
