Role Description

We are seeking a Junior Developer passionate about AI integration, embedded systems, and full-stack development.

You will work directly with the CTO and senior engineers to:

• Build, deploy, and test small-scale AI services on NVIDIA Jetson devices and  microcontrollers (ESP32, ESPIDF, CUDA, C++).
• Develop APIs, dashboards, and user interfaces for edge-AI products.
• Integrate computer-vision and speech models for Zambia-centric use cases (education, banking, health, security).

This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career developer eager to work on real hardware, real data, and real national-impact projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing Python-based AI inference and REST API services.
• Build front-end dashboards (React/Next.js or Flutter) for product monitoring.
• Work with TensorRT/ONNX models and optimize for Jetson hardware.
• Contribute to firmware and  microcontroller code (ESP-IDF/C++/Python).
• Manage data-ingestion pipelines (OCR, FAISS, or SQL Lite).
• Support software documentation, testing, and deployment to clients.
• Collaborate on research and field pilots across sectors (education, finance, healthcare, smart city).

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in  Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Solid foundation in Python and at least one of: C/C++, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Basic knowledge of machine-learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX).
• Familiarity with APIs, databases (SQLite/PostgreSQL), and Git version control.
• Curiosity about IoT hardware (Raspberry Pi, ESP32, STM32) or electronics.
• Strong problem-solving and willingness to learn fast.

Nice-to-Have / Preferred

• Experience with Jetson Nano / AGX Xavier / TensorRT deployment.
• Understanding of computer vision (YOLO, OpenCV) or speech models (Vosk, Piper).
• Knowledge of Zambian digital-finance or education systems.
• Familiarity with React, Next.js, Flask, FastAPI, or Node.js.
• Passion for open-source, innovation, and national development.
