IEEP, a Brussels-based think tank specializing in environmental policy and sustainability since 1976, is seeking a Junior Membership Officer. IEEP advises policymakers and conducts research on environmental policies across Europe, working with EU institutions, national authorities, NGOs, and more. IEEP also founded Think Sustainable Europe (TSE), a pan-European network of sustainability think tanks, coordinated by the Strategic Partnerships team.
Responsibilities:
- Support the management and coordination of the TSE network, including:
- Coordinating TSE Working Groups (strategy, KPIs, meetings).
- Organizing skill-shares and trainings for TSE members.
- Updating the TSE contacts database.
- Managing new member applications and due diligence.
- Contributing to TSE Theory of Change and Executive Directors' meetings.
- Supporting membership fee collection and working area mapping.
- Organize TSE network activities, including:
- Coordinating high-level meetings with policymakers (e.g., EC, MEPs).
- Supporting TSE contributions to initiatives like Think2030 and EGD Barometer.
- Assisting with event logistics, especially Think2030 events.
- Contributing to fundraising and project development.
- Manage TSE communication content, including:
- Preparing the monthly TSE newsletter with the communication officer.
- Managing TSE webpage and digital platforms.
- Planning social media campaigns and developing short-form content with researchers.
- Provide background research and support for IEEP teams on outreach and network coordination.
Skills and Qualifications:
- University-level education in a relevant field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Advanced English; additional languages are an asset.
- Minimum one year of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of European institutions and policymaking processes.
- Experience in the non-profit sector is an advantage.
- Commitment to sustainability values.
Conditions of Employment:
- Remuneration: €2,400 monthly gross (12.92 months basis).
- Benefits: Meal vouchers, €154 monthly home working allowance, €20 monthly internet allowance, paid Brussels public transport, flexible 4-5 day workweek, 20 remote workdays outside Belgium, home office equipment contribution.
- Location: IEEP Brussels office (hybrid schedule).
- Duration: One-year definite contract (CDD), renewable.
- Starting Date: August 2025.
