JOB DETAILS:

Role Summary:

The Legal Advisor provides expert legal guidance to the organization to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role involves identifying legal risks, drafting and reviewing contracts, and advising on governance matters. The ideal candidate will act as a guardian of the organization’s legal integrity while supporting its strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance: Monitor changes in relevant legislation and ensure the organization’s policies remain compliant with local, state, and federal laws.

Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts (vendor agreements, partnership MOUs, employment contracts, leases).

Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive advice to mitigate liability.

Governance: Advise the Board of Directors on corporate governance best practices and fiduciary duties.

Dispute Resolution: Manage legal disputes, liaise with external counsel, and represent the organization in mediation or litigation as needed.

Policy Development: Assist in the creation and review of internal policies (HR, Data Privacy, Code of Conduct).

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree.

Current license to practice law in [Jurisdiction].

☑ years of experience in corporate law, non-profit law, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of contract law, employment law, and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

High ethical standards and ability to handle confidential information.

Performance Metrics:

Turnaround time for contract reviews.

Mitigation of legal risks (reduction in disputes/litigation).

Compliance audit results.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 24

Level of Education: postgraduate degree
