We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant / Junior Lawyer to join our team. The successful candidate will support legal operations with a focus on debt collection, property-related disputes, and litigation support, while working closely with internal teams and external counsel.
Responsibilities or duties
- Assist in handling debt collection matters, including drafting demand letters and negotiating settlements
- Support resolution of property disputes, including tenant, landlord, and ownership-related issues
- Attend to smaller court matters and provide litigation support where required
- Liaise with external counsel and follow up on ongoing cases
- Draft, review, and manage legal documents, contracts, and correspondence
- Conduct legal research and provide concise legal opinions when needed
- Maintain proper records of legal matters and ensure timely follow-ups
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
- Must be an Advocate of the High Court
- Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation processes
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
