JOB DETAILS:
Bulk Mining Explosives Limited (BME), a member of the Omnia group of companies is a leading manufacturer and supplier of Bulk Emulsion Explosives.
BME seeks applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill in the positions of BLASTING ENGINEER to be based in Kalumbila.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The BLASTING ENGINEER will be overall overseer OF DRILLING AND BLASTING OPERATIONS ensuring safety and protocols and and procedures are followed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct comprehensive site surveys to assess geological conditions and define blasting requirements.
• Perform detailed risk assessments to ensure safety and compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Oversee the execution of drilling operations
• Train and mentor trainee graduate engineers.
• Any other duties as tasked by superiors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering.
• A minimum of three years’ experience preferably in a mining sector.
• Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.

OTHER QUALIFICATION
• Membership to the Zambia Institute of Engineering
• Blasting certificate.
• Valid driver’s license
• Flexibility to work long hours during busy periods.
