JOB DETAILS:
Overall Purpose: To oversee all underground mining operations, ensuring safety, productivity, and compliance with planning and budgetary targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the activities of all underground shift bosses and crews.
- Ensure mining operations adhere to the mine plan, safety protocols, and production schedules.
- Implement and enforce all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
- Analyze production reports, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions.
- Manage operational budgets and control costs (labor, equipment, materials).
- Liaise with geology, engineering, and maintenance departments.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
- Statutory Mine Captain’s Certificate of Competency.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of underground mining experience, with at least 5 in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of mining laws, regulations, and best practices.
