Position: Mobile Crane Operator

Department: Logistics

Location: Good Time Steel, Lusaka

Company Overview:

Good Time Steel is a leading steel manufacturing and recycling company committed to quality, safety, and operational excellence. We are looking for a skilled and responsible Mobile Crane Operator to join our operations team.

Job Purpose:

To safely operate a mobile crane to lift, move, position, and place materials such as scrap metal, finished steel products, and equipment within the plant or designated work areas while adhering to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a mobile crane to lift, move, and position materials and equipment.
  • Inspect the crane before and after operation to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies during lifting operations.
  • Work closely with riggers and supervisors to ensure safe lifting practices.
  • Maintain proper records of crane operations and report any faults or defects.
  • Ensure loads are properly secured and balanced before lifting.
  • Assist in general yard operations when required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Valid Mobile Crane Operator Certificate / License.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating a mobile crane in an industrial or construction environment.
  • Good knowledge of safety procedures and lifting techniques.
  • Physically fit and able to work in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

  • Strong safety awareness.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
