The Conservation farming Unit (CFU) is a local organisation dedicated to supporting smallholder farmers through sustainable agricultural practices, promotion of agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, and climate-smart techniques to enhance productivity while fostering healthy ecosystems and ensuring resilient livelihoods. The CFU will be implementing a six-month project aimed at Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture for Improved Productivity and Sustainable Livelihoods, working together GIZ in 6 districts of Central and Southern provinces.
Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist
Job Location: Lusaka with frequent travel to project sites
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing and Implementing M&E frameworks which include creating results frameworks, indicators, and data collection tools.
- Data Collection and Analysis – Gathering and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data from various sources, using tools like surveys, interviews, and focus groups etc.
- Monitoring Project Progress – Regularly tracking project activities against established targets and timelines.
- Reporting and Communication – Preparing regular reports for stakeholders, including donors, program managers, and other relevant parties, highlighting progress, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Capacity Building – Training and supporting field staff on M&E procedures and best practices.
- Ensuring Data Quality – Implementing measures to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and validity of data.
- Facilitating Evaluations – Supporting the planning and implementation of mid-term and final evaluations, including the development of terms of reference and analysis of evaluation findings.
- Promoting Learning and Improvement – Using M&E findings to inform project adjustments and improve future program design and implementation.
- Maintaining M&E Systems – Ensuring the effective operation of monitoring and evaluation information management systems.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Full Grade 12 Certificate.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Research methods, Social sciences or Development studies
- At least 5 years working experience in MEL related activities/assignments
- Strong analytical and data management skills are essential, experience with both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
- Specific experience in designing and implementing M&E systems, as well as strong communication and project management skills
- Experience in working with ODK, SPSS, STATA and KoBoToolbox computer packages
- In possession of a valid driver’s license
