MULTIPLE POSITIONS: LOAN OFFICERS, CASHIER, & SECURITY GUARDS

REPORTS TO: BRANCH MANAGER

THE COMPANY

UMINO Community Loan Services is a private company limited by shares that provides financial services to rural parts of Zambia. UMINO is an acronym derived from ‘UMoyo wa bwINO’ which means a ‘good life’ and provides Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) loans.

UMINO provides loans to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Eastern part of Zambia. UMINO currently has more than 2000 clients across six branches covering twelve (12) districts namely, Rufunsa, Luangwa, Nyimba, Petauke, Sinda, Katete, Lundazi, Lumezi, Chasefu, Chipangali, Chadiza and Vubwi.

To actualize our mission, we are looking for ambitious and suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions that have arisen:

LOAN OFFICERS (X6)

JOB OVERVIEW

The loan officer will be responsible for receiving loan applications, assessing business plans, and conducting follow up visits with clients. Additionally, the loan officer will be required to compose weekly working plans and any other duties assigned by supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Creates and manages own loan portfolio.

2. Marketing and selling company products and services to customers.

3. Loan assessment based on the UMINO guidelines.

4. Present supportable business ideas with a proper and complete loan proposals to the Branch Manager

5. Client monitoring by conducting regular on-site visits as per guidelines.

6. Coaches loan receivers and evaluate business activity along the on-site visits.

7. Writing weekly reports

8. Keeps Branch Manager updated regarding performance of his/her loan portfolio, so that possible problems can be tackled pro-actively.

Qualifications and Requirements

1. Ability to ride a motorbike is a must. (must have a valid rider license)

2. Full Grade 12 Certificate with credits in English and Mathematics.

3. Minimum qualification – Tertiary education in either Business studies or Agric related courses

4. Attention to detail is a must.

5. Trustworthy, Self-motivated and can work under minimal supervision.

6. Very high reliability, integrity, and efficient working style

7. Basic knowledge in operating Microsoft office package tools

8. Good spoken English and interpersonal skills.

9. Preferably Katete/ Petauke Residents. Must be a resident of either Nyimba or Petauke districts

CASHIER (X2)

JOB OVERVIEW

A cashier is responsible for managing financial transactions in a retail, service, or banking environment. Their main role is to ensure that customers’ payments are processed accurately and efficiently while providing good customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Cashier will be responsible for among other things;

• Do Quick and Accurate posting of Loan Repayments into the Loan Tracking System
• Submit Daily Reports to Head Office by 10hrs of the following day
• Scanning finance / loans documents and filing them electronically
• Ensure that the office’s petty cash is secured, used, and replenished according to Umino’s petty cash management guidelines.
• Ensure that Fuel is secured, used and replenished according to the Umino guidelines.
• Ensure Proper Care of Company Assets
• Coordinate Branch Procurements and Inventory Management
• Weekly Backups of Loan and Finance data

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Full Grade 12 certificate with at least a credit in English and Mathematics
• At least a Certificate in Accounting (ZICA Technician)
• Valid Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants
• At least 2 years of experience in the finance department
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office ESPECIALLY EXCEL SPREADSHEET
• Able to deliver with minimum supervision
• Excellent communication skills

JOB OVERVIEW

A security guard is responsible for protecting people, property, and assets by maintaining a safe and secure environment. Their presence helps deter crime, manage access control, and respond to emergencies or suspicious activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and control access to the premises
• Ensure safety of staff, clients, and property at all times
• Conduct regular patrols and security checks
• Respond promptly to any suspicious activities or incidents
• Maintain a security log and report incidents as necessary

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a security role
• Physically fit and alert
• Basic literacy and communication skills
• Strong sense of responsibility and integrity
• Security certification or training is an added advantage
