Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all security operations across LSO branches. The role ensures efficient deployment of personnel, compliance with company policies and statutory requirements, operational excellence, and exceptional client service.
The Operations Manager provides leadership to supervisors and security personnel, maintains operational standards, and works closely with other departments to support business growth and service delivery.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
- Oversee the day-to-day security operations across all LSO branches and client sites.
- Coordinate the deployment and redeployment of security personnel to ensure adequate site coverage.
- Oversee daily field operations, including deployment schedules, patrol activities, and supervisory inspections.
- Conduct routine operational inspections and site visits to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, shift handovers, and operational performance.
- Monitor compliance with operational reporting procedures and ensure prompt escalation of unresolved field issues.
- Ensure all client assignments are executed professionally and in accordance with contractual obligations.
2. Personnel Leadership
- Supervise, mentor, and support supervisors, and security officers.
- Identify training needs and promote continuous staff development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching where necessary.
- Manage disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies and the Zambian Employment Code Act.
- Ensure disciplinary procedures are applied fairly, consistently, and properly documented.
- Promote discipline, teamwork, professionalism, and accountability throughout the operations team.
3. Client Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular communication and site visits.
- Conduct regular site visits and proactively collect client feedback to monitor service quality, address concerns promptly, and enhance client satisfaction.
- Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and client expectations are consistently met.
- Address operational concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Support client retention by maintaining high service standards.
4. Risk Management & Compliance
- Conduct security risk assessments and operational audits.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review site-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, client requirements, and industry best practices.
- Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
5. Operations Support & Reporting
- Manage daily operational communication platforms, including official company reporting channels, to ensure timely coordination and professional communication.
- Monitor daily operational reporting and ensure timely submission of field reports.
- Review field reports and operational data to identify trends, monitor performance, and recommend operational improvements.
- Prepare operational, incident, and performance reports for management.
- Analyze operational trends and recommend improvements to service delivery.
6. Logistics & Resource Management
- Oversee the management of company operational assets, including uniforms, equipment, vehicles, and motorbikes.
- Monitor the maintenance, inspection, and operational readiness of company vehicles and motorbikes.
- Ensure proper allocation, accountability, and efficient utilization of company resources.
- Work with relevant departments to support the mobilization of new contracts and branch operations.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Security Management, Public Administration, Criminology, Development Studies, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in security operations, operations management, logistics, law enforcement, military service, or a similar supervisory role.
- Proven experience leading teams and managing multiple operational activities.
- Experience in client relationship management and operational planning will be an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Willing to travel across branches and client sites as required.
