Purpose of the role:
Job Overview
To provide painting and finishing services on a variety of Hitachi Components and rebuilt equipment to meet high quality standards that also meet the customers’ expectations.
Reports To: Senior Machine Shop Supervisor
Branch: Remanufacturing – Lusaka
Contract Type: Permanent
Key Responsibilities
The Painter will be required to perform the following tasks:
- Ensure Health and Safety standards, Regulations and Procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Participate in safety meetings.
- Ensure tools are available and kept in good condition, and machinery is maintained to the highest standards.
- Prepare components/rebuilt equipment for painting by sanding, masking, and cleaning surfaces to ensure a clean finish.
- Mix and match paints and coatings to achieve desired colors and finishes, following established guidelines.
- Sandblasting of components.
- Operate a variety of Industrial Paint equipment such as spray guns, brushes, rollers and other tools, ensuring even coverage and flawless finish.
- Inspect painted surfaces for quality, addressing any imperfection through touch ups and refinishing as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with other technicians to ensure timely completion of painting jobs.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Minimum of a Skills Award Level 3 Certificate/ Trade Test Certificate from a recognized institution.
- Minimum experience of 3 years in a similar fast-paced environment.
- Practicing Member of EIZ.

- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality standards.
