The National Food and Nutrition Commission is a statutory Body under the Ministry of Health, with the mandate of providing promotional, advisory and regulatory support to government on matters of food and nutrition. The Institution now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of:

1.0 PROCUREMENT OFFICER X 1

1.1 JOB PURPOSE:

To undertake the procurement of goods, services and works in order to facilitate efficient and effective functioning of the Institution

1.2 KEY RESULT AREAS

KEY RESULT AREA — PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN DUTIES)

PROCUREMENT PLANS

Undertakes timely and accurately the preparation of procurement plans in order to guide on the procurement of goods, services and works.

PROCUREMENT

Undertakes efficiently procurement of goods, services and works in order to ensure their timely availability, value for money, and facilitate smooth operation of the Institution.

CONTRACT MANAGEMENT

Undertakes timely preparation of documentation for Supply Contract Management in order to facilitate adherence to contractual terms and obligations.

BIDDING DOCUMENTS

Undertakes timely the preparation of bidding documents in order to facilitate invitations of bids and ensure transparency.

PROCUREMENT RECORDS

Undertakes effectively the maintenance of procurement records in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information.

SECRETARIAT SERVICES

Undertakes efficiently the provision of secretariat service to the procurement committee in order to facilitate smooth conduct of business.

PROCUREMENT REPORTS

Undertakes timely the preparation of procurement reports in order to meet statutory requirements and facilitate decision making.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

Undertakes effectively the implementation of performance management systems in order to facilitate improvement in performance and productivity.

1.3 EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supply or CIPS Level Five in Purchasing and Supply
  • Five years’ relevant work experience in reputable organization
  • Valid membership to the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply
  • E-GP System Training Certification by ZPPA

Education

1.4 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Computer Literate
  • Able to use e-GP system
  • Able to write analytical and technical reports
  • Able to communicate effectively in English

1.5 OTHER SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

  • Confidentiality, Negotiation skills, Honesty, Integrity, Interpersonal Skills, Trustworthy, Numeracy, attention to detail.
