Background
Chibanje Chemicals and Engineering Ltd is a construction chemicals and equipment manufacturing company based in Kafue. We manufacture tile fix, paints, roofing sheets, grouts, varnish, spirit of salt, anti-termites among other construction and home care products.
Role Overview
As Production Manager, you will oversee the manufacturing or operational process, ensuring that goods are produced safely, cost-effectively, and on time. You will bridge the gap between senior management and the factory floor, driving efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and coordinating resources across supply chains.
Core Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Control: Creating production schedules to meet customer demand while ensuring raw materials and personnel are available.
- Quality Assurance: Implementing quality control processes to reduce defects and ensure products meet specified standards.
- Resource Management: Overseeing equipment maintenance, managing inventory levels, and supervising factory staff to prevent bottlenecks.
- Cost Optimization: Tracking budgets, minimizing material wastage, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
- Health & Safety: Enforcing safety regulations and promoting a zero-incident work culture.
Qualifications & Key Skills
- Education: Typically requires a degree or diploma in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Requires 3 to (10+) years of hands-on operational and leadership experience, depending on the complexity of the industry.
- Key Competencies: Requires strong leadership and team motivation, strategic thinking, problem-solving under pressure, and proficiency with digital tracking or ERP systems.
