Organizational Context
The Programme Analyst (Environment) supervises and leads programme support staff in the Unit, coordinates activities of the project teams and other Programme Units, and works in close collaboration with the Operations team, programme staff in other UN Agencies, UNDP HQs staff and Government officials, technical advisors and experts, multi-lateral and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful UNDP programme implementation.


Functions / Key Results Expected
Summary of Key Functions:

  • Provision of top quality policy advice services to the Government and implementation of programme strategies.
  • Management of the CO programme.
  • Contribution to DaO Initiative.
  • Creation of strategic partnerships and implementation of the resource mobilization strategy.
  • Facilitation of knowledge building and management.

Recruitment Qualifications


Education:
Master’s Degree or equivalent in Environmental Studies, Economics, Political / Social Science, Business/Public Administration, or other development-related field.


Experience:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services in the environmental protection and project management areas;
  • Hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages and handling of web-based management systems essential.

Language Requirements:
Fluency (both verbal and written) in English and French, and the national language of the duty station
