Our vision is a world without hunger. Our mission is to facilitate individual and collective action to transform the systems of inequality that create hunger and cause it to persist.
THP-Zambia has been operating in Zambia since 2019 and is launching its second Epicenter Community-Led Development (CLD) 5 year project in Sinda District, focused specifically within the Ching'ombe Ward. This ambitious project integrates multiple development pillars to holistically address the root causes of hunger and poverty.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Epicenter Project Officer to lead the establishment and implementation of this new, multi-sectoral Epicenter in Sinda District.
This pivotal role requires a dynamic individual capable of managing diverse programming streams simultaneously. You will utilize our Vision-Commitment-Action (VCA) model to mobilize communities toward self-reliance, integrating initiatives across:
- Agriculture & Livelihoods

- Disability Inclusion
- Leadership & Advocacy
The successful candidate will be the primary on-site representative, ensuring all activities foster community ownership, align with national policies, and achieve sustainable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrated Project Management: Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all the above-mentioned integrated programs within the Ching'ombe Epicenter area.
- Community Mobilization & VCA: Facilitate intensive VCA workshops, empowering local leaders and community members to identify needs, set goals, and drive action.
- Capacity Building: Provide technical assistance and training to community animators, local committees, and stakeholders, with a strong focus on sustainable agriculture practices, nutrition-sensitive agriculture, education, women and youth empowerment, climate change, and WASH best practices.
- Partnership & Advocacy: Establish strong working relationships with government line ministries (e.g., Ministries of Agriculture, Health, and Community Development), traditional leaders, and local NGOs in Sinda District. Advocate for the widespread adoption of CLD strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, in Agronomy, Agriculture, Sociology, Economics, Development Studies, Rural /Community development, social work, Project Management, Public Health, or a related Social Science field (a relevant Degree is highly preferred).
- Experience:

- Demonstrated experience in community mobilization and the CLD approach.
- Experience managing projects that incorporate multiple components like Agriculture, WASH, Nutrition, Livelihoods, and Gender/Youth Empowerment is essential.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal), and leadership skills. Must be proficient in project reporting, data collection tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attributes: Highly self-motivated, flexible, honest, and capable of managing complex workloads in a rural, remote environment with minimal supervision.
Added Advantages:
