About ZAFOD
ZAFOD is a national umbrella Civil Society Organisation of and for Persons with Disabilities, whose mandate is to advocate for the promotion and protection of the rights of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs); strengthen the capacity of its affiliate members; carry out research on pertinent disability issues for advocacy work and raise awareness on various challenges affecting persons with disabilities and barriers preventing the enjoyment of their fundamental rights, dignity and freedom.
With support from partners - Sightsavers and the European Union, ZAFOD is implementing the RAD-P – Realising the African Disability Protocol Project, aimed at strengthening participation of persons with disabilities in governance, policy influence and decision-making processes.
Job Purpose
ZAFOD seeks a dynamic Project Officer to support coordination, implementation, monitoring and reporting of activities under the RAD-P Project. The Officer will work closely with programme staff, OPDs, government stakeholders and partners to ensure effective delivery of project interventions on citizenship, political participation and social inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Support planning and implementation of project activities
- Facilitate stakeholder engagements, trainings and workshops
- Support partner coordination and capacity building initiatives
- Maintain project data and contribute to monitoring and reporting
- Support documentation of case studies and learning
- Provide logistical and administrative support to programme activities
- Support project visibility and awareness initiatives
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Governance, Gender, Disability Studies or related field
- Experience supporting development programme implementation
- Experience working with persons with disabilities or OPDs is an advantage
- Knowledge of disability rights, governance and advocacy processes
- Experience in participatory monitoring and evaluation is desirable

- Stakeholder engagement and networking ability
- Basic financial literacy
- Strong IT skills
- Willingness to travel within Zambia
