The Project Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project execution strategy, milestones, and client requirements. The Planner works closely with construction, procurement, engineering, and quality teams to track progress, identify delays, and implement recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain the Level 1–4 project schedules using Primavera P6
Integrate procurement, engineering, construction, commissioning, and client milestone data into one cohesive master schedule
Conduct critical path analysis and float monitoring
Perform progress measurement and update schedules with actual data (physical % complete, manhours, etc.)
Identify potential delays or resource constraints and propose mitigation or recovery plans
Interface with site supervisors, subcontractors, and other disciplines for accurate inputs
Generate weekly and monthly reports including S-curves, earned value analysis, look-ahead plans, and variance analysis
Monitor productivity, track key performance indicators, and update forecast models
Assist in claims preparation and time impact analysis, if required
Ensure the planning and scheduling practices comply with project procedures and client standards

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

Degree or National Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management
Planning or scheduling certification (e.g. PMI-SP, AACE, or Primavera training) is an advantage
Experience:

5+ years of experience as a planner/scheduler in major infrastructure, mining, or industrial projects
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Primavera P6 in a project environment
Previous experience on E&I, mechanical, or multi-discipline projects is essential
Familiarity with project controls concepts such as Earned Value Management (EVM) and resource loading

Skills & Competencies:

Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Project
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, dashboards)
Strong analytical and reporting abilities
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Detail-oriented and highly organised
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Working Conditions:

Project site-based role (remote mining area)
May involve extended hours, rotation shifts, or overtime as required
Must comply with all health and safety requirements and PPE regulations on site
