JOB DETAILS:
Misenge Environmental and Technical Services Limited (METS) was incorporated in 2012 as a 100% owned subsidiary company of ZCCM Investments Holdings Plc (ZCCM-IH). METS started business as a private limited company on 1st February 2013.
As a combined Engineering and Environmental Consultancy/Contracting company, METS provides Environmental, Radiation, Analytical and Engineering Services to ZCCM-IH and other clients within and outside the mining sector.

Job Summary:
To plan and oversee construction and maintenance of building structures and facilities such as tailings dams, roads, bridges, earth dams, irrigation projects, and water and sewerage systems

Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare Bill of Quantities for all engineering and related projects.
• Assist in the screening process of engineering projects to be undertaken by METS.
• Ensure that contractors engaged by METS carry out civil works according to agreed specifications.
• Monitor the implementation of various sub-projects under the METS, especially civil works
• Prepare regular progress reports on project implementation for geotechnical related projects which meet METS requirements.
• Answer technical queries related to geotechnical/civil engineering activities of the METS.
• Perform technical duties for which he/she is specialized
• Develop proposals and determine cost and schedule.
• Provide direction to the technical team in field inspection activities.
• Review construction design proposals.

Education and Experience
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent
• At least 5 years practical experience in Civil Engineering
• Must be a paid up member of the Engineering institute of Zambia
• Must be a registered Engineer of the Engineers Registration Board.

Key Knowledge, Attributes, Skills and Abilities
• Should have strong skills and experience in geotechnical analysis and design
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment to achieve complex project objectives and expectations
• Should be familiar with computer programs used in developing designs e.g. AutoCAD, etc.
• Must be a good team player
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good time management and efficient working practices
• Experience in project management for construction works.
• Should be adaptable and possess an analytical approach to work
• Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel/Google Earth Pro and internet explorer
• Must have a clean Driving license
