Background
260 Brands is inviting applications from talented and results-driven professionals to join its Commercial Team.
Responsibilities
- Implement, monitor, and verify the HACCP system and prerequisite programs across all production lines.
- Conduct hazard analyses and risk assessments in accordance with HACCP principles.
- Ensure full compliance with the requirements of the FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System, relevant Zambian national standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Monitor company adherence to HACCP, Quality Management Systems, and Environmental Health & Safety protocols.
- Maintain and update quality and compliance documentation, ensuring accessibility to relevant departments.
- Conduct regular assessments to verify compliance with internal and external quality standards.
- Plan and conduct internal audits on Quality, Food Safety, Health, and Environmental Systems.
- Prepare audit reports with findings and recommendations for corrective action.
- Carry out annual risk assessments and ensure implementation of mitigation plans.
- Develop and update training materials aligned with company objectives (e.g., HACCP certification readiness).
- Deliver training sessions to staff on food safety, hygiene, and quality awareness.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality consciousness among all employees.
- Review and revise the company’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies regularly.
- Ensure alignment of documents with current regulations and industry best practices.
- Maintain proper documentation control and version history for audit readiness.
- Oversee performance and compliance of subcontracted waste management and pest control service providers.
- Verify that all service providers hold valid certifications from ZEMA and other regulatory bodies.
- Conduct periodic reviews and performance evaluations of contracted services.
- Ensure full implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental systems.
- Track regulatory changes and update internal systems accordingly.
- Coordinate with functional departments to maintain ongoing certification and compliance status.
- Conduct scheduled and ad hoc quality audits across departments.
- Prepare audit reports and track implementation of corrective actions.
- Identify areas for improvement and propose actionable solutions.
- Collaborate with departments on quality-related processes from raw material receipt to product distribution.
- Standardize quality checkpoints across departments to ensure consistent compliance.
- Provide quality input in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Investigate non-conformances through root cause analysis.
- Ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Conduct follow-up audits to verify resolution effectiveness.
- Oversee sampling of finished products for internal and external laboratory analysis.
- Interpret lab results and initiate necessary actions for out-of-spec products.
- Ensure sampling protocols comply with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Lead Quality and Health & Safety Committee meetings with structured agendas and follow-ups.
- Engage members in identifying key issues and driving continuous improvement.
- Track and document actions and resolutions from committee discussions.
- Organize and facilitate Management Review Meetings in accordance with QMS protocols.
- Present performance data and improvement plans for management consideration.
- Compile and distribute detailed minutes and follow-up reports.
- Investigate customer complaints and determine root causes.
- Implement corrective actions and communicate resolution outcomes.
- Maintain complaint logs and analyze trends for systemic improvements.
- Respond to incidents involving food contamination, employee safety, or environmental hazards.
- Lead crisis investigation, containment, and communication efforts.
- Document incident reports and implement corrective action plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
- Expert knowledge of food safety laws, regulations, and standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong supervisory skills and experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in developing and writing food safety SOPs and related documentation.
- Highly skilled in time management and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- IT literate with hands-on experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- HACCP Certification or equivalent food safety management training.
- Experience working in a certified food manufacturing environment (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, BRCGS).
- Exposure to internal audit practices, risk assessments, or compliance monitoring.
