Summary
Construction for Africa is a growing construction firm delivering high-impact infrastructure projects across Zambia. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to support cost management, contract administration, and project delivery excellence across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BoQs)
Manage the full tendering process including preparation, evaluation, and reporting
Monitor project costs and ensure delivery within approved budgets
Conduct site measurements and valuations for interim and final payments
Administer contracts, including variations, claims, and dispute resolution
Track design changes and adjust cost projections accordingly
Conduct market surveys for materials, labour, and equipment pricing
Prepare financial and progress reports for management and clients
Support procurement planning and subcontractor management
Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements
Participate in site visits, project meetings, and stakeholder engagements
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
Minimum 4-6 years experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
Membership or registration with a relevant professional body such as:
- Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors (ZIQS)
- Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes
Proficiency in MS Excel and cost estimation tools
Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
High attention to detail and strong financial reporting capability
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects
Willingness to travel to project sites when required
