Section 1: Introduction, Technical Background and Scope of Work

1.1 Introduction: The Farmer-to-Farmer Activity is a USAID program implemented by CNFA in Zambia. The goal of the Farmer-to-Farmer activity is to generate rapid, sustained economic growth in the agricultural sector.

Offerors are responsible for ensuring that their offers are received by CNFA in accordance with the instructions, terms, and conditions described in this RFP. Failure to adhere to the instructions described in this RFP may lead to disqualification of an offer from consideration.

CNFA will consider proposals in response to this RFP from local insurance firms. Offerors from international firms will not be accepted.

1.2: Scope of Work: CNFA solicits from eligible insurance companies, operational in Zambia, for the provision of medical insurance and group life insurance to its Zambian-national staff and eligible dependents.

CNFA will select the offeror who best demonstrates the ability to provide the best combination of benefits and premium for comprehensive medical coverage and/or group life insurance to the staff.  Medical insurance will be provided to four staff and their dependents and group life insurance will be provided to staff members during the period of twelve months (one year). The number may slightly change in accordance with staff mobilization processes for Farmer to Farmer. The final list will be provided upon contract signature to the selected offeror. The tender is for the provision of medical insurance cover to four CNFA Zambian national staff and their dependents

Therefore, each offeror should provide separate quotes for medical insurance and group life insurance in their proposals.

Offerors are responsible for ensuring that their offers are received by CNFA in accordance with the instructions, terms, and conditions described in this RFP.  Failure to adhere with instructions described in this RFP may lead to disqualification of an offer from consideration
