About the Radio Technician Role
As a Radio Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our broadcasting services. This full-time position offers two openings for candidates who are passionate about radio technology and committed to maintaining high technical standards.
Key Responsibilities for Radio Technician Jobs in Lusaka
- Maintain and troubleshoot all radio broadcasting equipment and related technologies.
- Operate and service mixers, audio processors, microphones, recorders, and studio systems.
- Provide technical support for live sound reinforcement and recording sessions.
- Quickly diagnose and resolve technical audio issues to minimize downtime.
- Assist with audio editing, sound mixing, and overall radio production processes.
- Collaborate effectively with production teams and other technical staff.
- Ensure consistent and reliable operation of studio and broadcast equipment.
- Perform additional technical duties as assigned by management.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum education level: Grade 12.
- Diploma in Journalism or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Relevant training in broadcasting and sound engineering.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a radio station environment.
- Strong familiarity with radio broadcasting equipment and technologies.
- Hands-on experience with live sound reinforcement and recording techniques.
- Proficiency in music editing software and digital audio workstations (DAWs).
- Excellent oral communication and presentation capabilities.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with an ability to resolve technical audio problems efficiently.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving requirements.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and knowledge of media legislation.
