Overview
The Civil Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified and unemployed health professionals for the 2026 recruitment of 2,600 Workers in the Ministry of Health.
Applicants are required to submit their applications through ZAMPOST and indicate their preferred district of deployment (except for Intern Medical Doctors and Pharmacists, who should indicate their preferred province).
Registered Mental Health Nurses
- Assess and monitor the mental health status of patients in psychiatric units.
- Administer psychotropic medications and monitor for side effects (extrapyramidal).
- Implement de-escalation techniques for agitated or aggressive patients.
- Conduct therapeutic communication and one-on-one sessions with patients.
- Supervise patients' daily living activities and psychosocial rehabilitation.
- Prepare patients for electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and provide post-ECT care.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a Zambian citizen with a valid National Registration Card (NRC).
- Possess a full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
- Hold relevant professional qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Be duly registered and licensed by the relevant professional regulatory body (where applicable).
- Be unemployed in the Civil Service at the time of application.
- Be above 18 years and below 45 years of age.

Applicants should submit:
- Application letter indicating the professional cadre and preferred district (or preferred province for Intern Medical Doctors and Pharmacists).
- Certified copies of academic and professional qualifications.
- Certified copy of the National Registration Card (NRC).
- Valid practising licence (where applicable).
- Professional registration certificate (where applicable).
- Any other relevant supporting documents (e.g. a certificate from the Zambia Agency/Association for Persons with Disabilities, where applicable).

The Civil Service Commission and the Ministry of Health do not charge any recruitment fee at any stage of the process. Applicants are only responsible for ZAMPOST postage charges.
