JOB DETAILS:
Konkola Mineral Resources Limited (KMRL) a subsidiary of Konkola Copper Mines Plc (KCM PIc), is one of the largest copper producers in Zambia. It operates underground and open pit mines located at Nchanga and Konkola. To support this vision KMRL would like to recruit an experienced and qualified individual for the following position in the Medical Department.

Job Purpose:
To head and provide leadership, efficient, effective and quality service in the department of anesthesia and critical care, manage all patients requiring anesthesia and intensive care within the allocated resources.

MAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To supervise, teach, advice and mentor medical officers, nursing and paramedical staff in handling of emergencies and critical care.
• To fulfill all on-call obligations in order to ensure prompt, efficient and effective management of emergencies.
• Supervise and conduct anesthetic clinics, pre op and post op assessments and reviews so that a high standard of care is offered within the allocated resources.
• Communicate and co-operate with patients, colleagues and other members of staff so that a good team spirit is maintained and the individual patient is recognized as paramount.
• Keep abreast of developments in anesthesia and critical care and participate in/conduct clinical research and audits in order to improve medical practice within the available resources.

REQUIREMENTS:
• MBChB or its equivalent
• M.MED in Anesthesia or its equivalent
• Minimum 10 years postgraduate experience
• Full registration with Health Professions Council of Zambia with a current Practicing license.
