Palm Oil Production and Plantation
The Safety Officer will be responsible for:
- Develops and leads in the implementation and promotion of a health and safety culture across the workforce through the provision and development of sound health and safety policies and procedures.
- Carry out risk assessments, identify hazards and accident prevention initiatives and methodologies for investigations of accidents.
- Facilitate the maintenance and management of occupational health, safety and well-being through system, audits/inspections.
- Creating high standards and expectations on employee’s safety awareness and behaviours and performance.
- Advice on matters of Health and Safety obligations and responsivities by all the line managers.
- Initiate statistical data and documentation of all risk assessments and ensure occupational safety related accidents are reported through relevant channels to the relevant statutory bodies.
- Able to guide and demonstrate the usage of safety tools and ensure appropriate signage including FIRST AID Management
- Coordination of the Health and Safety Committee activities as per in compliance with the Health and Safety Act 36 of 2010 and the Factories Act 441.
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 GCE Level Certificate or GCSE
- A minimum a Degree/Diploma Health and Safety Management.
- Must be a member of the Zambia Occupational Health and Safety Association.
Experience:
- At least a minimum of 3 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety in a manufacturing/processing industry.
- Work experience in a plantation environment will be added advantage.
