We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our retail team in Ndola. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in retail sales and customer service, strong merchandising skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Promote and sell products to achieve and exceed daily and monthly sales targets.
- Arrange and replenish merchandise in line with company display standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the store, including shelves and storage areas.
- Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately.
- Handle cash, credit card, and multi-currency transactions with integrity and precision.
- Assist in stock control, including receiving, counting, and reconciling inventory.
- Enforce store security measures to minimize stock loss and shortages.
- Participate in store promotions and marketing activities to drive sales.
- Work flexible shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays, as scheduled.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Minimum Grade 12 Certificate (Intermediate and above).
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in customer service and retail sales.
- Experience in merchandising and inventory management is essential.
- Familiarity with POS systems and electronic payment methods.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sales-driven mindset with excellent persuasion and negotiation skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity in handling transactions.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Problem-solving and reasoning abilities.
- Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to excellent customer service.
