JOB DETAILS:
The Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation PLC (ZAFFICO) is a listed and publicly traded company whose mission is to establish and manage industrial exotic forest plantations and agroforestry products in order to meet demand and maximize return on investment.
In pursuance of its mission and strategic goals, the Corporation is now inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the underlisted positions at the Corporation’s INTEGRATED WOOD PROCESSING PLANT in KALULUSHI:

4.1 JOB PURPOSE
Maintain, repair, and optimize Bandsaw blades in accordance with the manufacturer’s manual and instructions.

4.2 MAIN DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB HOLDER
i. Ensure that saws operate efficiently, safely, and effectively, reducing downtime and improving overall productivity;
ii. Ensure ready sharpened and set blades are available at all times
iii. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as sharpening, re-toothing saw blades, and replacing worn-out parts;
iv. Diagnose and repair damaged saws, including repairing or replacing broken teeth, blades, and other components;
v. Analyze saw performance and optimize saw settings for specific cutting tasks, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity;
vi. Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure that saws are operated safely;
vii. Troubleshoot saw-related problems and provide solutions to minimize downtime;
viii. Provide training and support to sawmill operators and ensuring that they understand proper saw operation, maintenance, and safety procedures;
ix. Maintain accurate records of saw maintenance, repairs, and performance.x. Report all faults and damages.

4.3 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Grade 12 School Certificate/GCE
• Certificate/Diploma in Instrumentation/Production Management/Engineering
• 3 years post qualification experience
• Training in sawmilling will be an added advantage
