ZSIC General Insurance is an opportunity employer and a member of IDC Group of Companies. ZSIC General Insurance seeks applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill up the following position:
Senior Administration and Purchasing Officer

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Administration and Purchasing Officer will manage the Company's administration and purchasing function by effectively and efficiently planning, directing and coordinating all activities of procurement, inventory stores and provision of effective transport, communication and office services

Duties/Responsibilities
The employee shall be specifically responsible for inter alia, the following:
• Develop procurement plans to ensure that materials are available as and when required for company operations.
• Ensure timely procurement of all goods and services required for company operations
• Review stock position or material consumption to ensure optimum maintenance of stock levels.
• Ensure timely evaluation of bidding documents for purchases in accordance with Zambia Public Procurement Authority Thresholds).
• Secretary to the Company's Procurement Committee
• Effectively supervises subordinate staff
• Ensure that procurement procedures are adhered to by all parties concerned as per company policy
• Adhere to policy for the disposal of redundant stocks as per approved policy.
• Prepare annual budgets for the department and controls expenditure within budget to ensure procurement requests are adequately funded
• Ensure approved purchases are executed in accordance with guidelines provided by the company
• Prepare all reports within his jurisdiction

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• Full Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• Degree in Purchasing and Supply
• A member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS)
• An understanding of the Procurement Act
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar or related position
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Innovative, initiative and result oriented
• Analytical skills Attention to detail

Level of Education:
Bachelor Degree
