Background

The LUSAKA APEX MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (LAMU) is a privately owned University, accredited by the Higher Education Authority under the Higher Education Amendment Act No. 23 of 2021 to provide Higher Education in Medical Education. LAMU is regulated by the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ), Nursing & Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ), Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA). Lusaka Apex Medical University is therefore looking for mature, proactive, highly motivated and result oriented Zambians with high degree of credibility to fill the following position.

Job Purpose

To impart knowledge and skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students in order to develop them into doctors and medical professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS, RESEARCH AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12 school certificate with at least five credits that must include English language, Mathematics and Scienceor its equivalent.
• PhD in Physiology, Neuroscience, or related discipline from a reputable and accredited University.
• Master of Physiology, Neuroscience, or related discipline from a reputable and accredited University.
• Bachelor of Physiology, MBChB or related field.
• All academic qualifications and results must be Validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
• At least five (5) years teaching/research experience at the university or research institute.
• At least 10 peer- reviewed publications in recognised outlets in the field of specialisation.
• Valid practicing license from a relevant professional regulatory body.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 certificate with credit in Mathematics and English
• Bachelor’s degree in software development, Computer Science, Information Technology, software engineering, or a related field
• All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
• Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL/PostgreSQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Familiarity with Linux CLI environments.
• Ability to develop websites from scratch.
• Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress and Canvas LMS (plugin customization is a plus).
• Prior exposure to KOHA, D Space, or Moodle will be an advantage.
• At least 3-5 years’ work experience
