Job Description

Sheladia Associates, Inc. is seeking experienced professionals to join its proposed team for an MCC-funded roads assignment in Zambia. The consultancy covers feasibility studies, outline designs, environmental and social impact assessment, and Employer’s Engineer services for improvements to the T5 and D274/R185a Roads under Zambia Compact II.

The Senior Road Design Technician will support geometric road design and the preparation of engineering drawings for the project.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare geometric road designs and associated engineering drawings.
• Use road design and CAD software to develop and update design documentation.
• Incorporate survey information and engineering inputs into drawings.
• Coordinate with road, drainage, pavement, and other engineering specialists.
• Support checks for drawing accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

Qualifications

• Higher Diploma from a technical college in civil engineering or a similar discipline.
• Membership of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ), Engineers Registration Board (EngRB) of Zambia, or a similar internationally recognized professional institution.
• At least 10 years of work experience.
• Full proficiency in conventional road design and CAD software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Responsibility for geometric design and preparation of drawings for three rural road projects of similar complexity.

This is a proposal-stage opportunity, subject to contract award and Client approval. Full-time residence in Zambia is not required during the feasibility study phase; however, frequent and extended visits will be necessary as required by the assignment.
