Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Software Engineer located in Lusaka. As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining back-end web applications. Daily tasks include programming, debugging, optimizing code, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features. This role involves writing clean, scalable code using but not limited to JavaScript technologies such as React, NextJS, Remix, Node and contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications.
- Write clean, scalable, and efficient code that adheres to best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and implement solutions.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for performance and usability.
- Stay current with emerging trends in web development and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
- Assist in deployment processes and ensure smooth integration with production systems.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of web development principles and best practices
- Experience with state management tools (e.g., Redux, Context API) and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., Postgres, MSSQL)
- Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and Software Development
- Experience in JavaScript Technologies (React, NextJs)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Relevant experience in software engineering or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
