JOB OPPORTUNITY – SOUS CHEF
Our company is seeking to recruit a skilled, experienced and passionate Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate must be hardworking, creative and able to perform efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Position: Sous Chef
Job Purpose
The Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen activities, ensuring quality food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, supervising kitchen staff and supporting efficient kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations
- Prepare and present meals according to company standards
- Supervise and support junior kitchen staff
- Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and food safety standards
- Assist in stock management and proper food storage
- Ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy working hours
- Support menu preparation and kitchen planning
- Promote teamwork, discipline and professionalism within the kitchen
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Food Production, Hospitality, or related field
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience in a professional kitchen environment
- Experience in hotels, restaurants, lodges or catering institutions will be an added advantage
- Good understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong cooking and food presentation skills
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- High level of discipline, professionalism and creativity
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
