About This Role
The Specialist II, Resource Mobilization, is responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing strategies that strengthen ChildFund’s ability to secure diversified funding. The role ensures alignment of all resource mobilization efforts with the organization’s Vision, Mission, and programmatic priorities. The Specialist will proactively analyze donor landscapes, identify strategic opportunities, develop high‑quality funding proposals, and cultivate partnerships with traditional and non‑traditional donors to support long‑term sustainability.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Resource Mobilization Planning
- Develop a comprehensive Resource Mobilization Plan aligned with ChildFund’s programme portfolio and strategic objectives.
- Conduct a rapid funding gap analysis to identify immediate and medium‑term funding needs.
- Prepare a four‑month action plan with clear revenue targets, timelines, and accountability mechanisms.
- Map donor trends, priorities, and upcoming calls for proposals to inform programme positioning.
- Ensure all resource mobilization initiatives are integrated into a programmatic approach that advances organisational goals.
2. Proposal and Grant Development
- Support the development, drafting, refinement, and submission of high‑quality concept notes and grant proposals tailored to donor requirements.
- Collaborate with programme, finance, and M&E teams to ensure proposals are technically sound, evidence‑based, and budget aligned.
- Maintain a proposal pipeline ensuring timely submissions and alignment with donor calendars.
- Track progress of submitted proposals, coordinate follow-ups, and support negotiations to advance opportunities toward award.
- Establish and maintain a repository of proposal materials, templates, and supporting documents.
3. Donor, Corporate, and Partnership Identification & Engagement
- Identify, assess, and priorities institutional donors, foundations, embassies, and multilateral agencies aligned with ChildFund’s thematic focus.
- Explore and evaluate non‑traditional funding sources including private sector partnerships, CSR opportunities, philanthropic foundations and charities and innovative financing mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain an up‑to‑date database of potential donors and partners, capturing trends, funding windows, and engagement opportunities.
- Prepare tailored pitch materials, investment cases, and presentations to support engagement efforts.
- Initiate, coordinate, and participate in donor meetings, networking events, and strategic discussions aimed at partnership building.
Required Experience and Education
- University degree in International Development, Public Health, Communication or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years experience in developing successful proposals and/or tender bids to Institutional donors, Foundations, Corporates and Private Funders
