Key Responsibilities

Workshop Operations

  • Carry out assigned maintenance, repair, and servicing tasks efficiently and professionally.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or bodywork faults and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Ensure all work is completed within established quality and safety standards.
  • Assist in maintaining workshop equipment, tools, and work areas in good condition.

Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on trailers and motor vehicles.
  • Conduct inspections to identify defects and ensure vehicles are roadworthy.
  • Replace or repair damaged components as required.
  • Test completed repairs to ensure functionality and safety.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Properly use workshop tools, machinery, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Report accidents, hazards, or equipment faults promptly.

Teamwork & Reporting

  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and fellow workshop staff to achieve operational targets.
  • Maintain accurate job cards, repair records, and maintenance documentation where applicable.
  • Assist in training junior staff and apprentices when required.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management within the scope of the role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in the relevant field of study.
  • Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate.
  • Additional technical or trade certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a busy automotive or trailer workshop.
  • Experience working on heavy-duty vehicles and trailers is an added advantage.
  • A clean and valid driving licence for manual vehicles is an added advantage for technical positions.
