STOCK CONTROLLER - RELOAD LOGISTICS (Assisted by Hail & Cotton Zambia Limited)

A Stock Controller is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, movement and reconciliation of tobacco stock. The Stock Controller needs to be detail-oriented and organized to manage inventory levels and ensure accurate stock records. The Stock Controller will conduct regular stock counts, and work closely with warehouse, procurement, and sales teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent shortages or overstocking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect and record incoming tobacco leaf and finished products
  • Monitor tobacco stock levels and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Conduct regular tobacco stock counts and reconcile physical tobacco stock with system records
  • Investigate and report tobacco stock discrepancies, shortages, or damages
  • Prepare daily inventory reports for management review
  • Maintain proper documentation for all tobacco stock transactions (incoming and outgoing tobacco stock)
  • Assist during internal and external inventory audits
  • Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, operations, logistics, quality, finance, and collateral teams to maintain effective stock control
  • Ensure all stock movements are authorized, documented, and accurately recorded in inventory systems.
  • Monitor stock condition, including packaging integrity, moisture concerns, infestation risk, contamination risk, and general warehouse housekeeping
  • Maintain proper traceability of tobacco stock from receipt through storage, processing, transfer, and dispatch

Work Experience Requirements

  • Proven experience of not less than 3 years in tobacco stock control, inventory management, and warehouse operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications

Qualification/Educational Requirements

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate, with credits or better
  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, Accounting, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, or a related field;
  • Professional memberships/qualifications are an advantage

Skills / Competencies

  • Strong inventory control and tobacco stock management skills
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Inventory/ERP/WMS systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Integrity and accountability

Working Conditions

  • Based in Kabwe Warehouse
  • Occasional overtime during stock-taking or peak periods
