Supply Chain Operations Lead

Location: Nairobi, Kenya (Onsite / Hybrid)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Operations Lead to oversee end-to-end inventory management, distribution networks, demand planning, and vendor logistics performance. In this role, you will streamline supply chain workflows, eliminate operational bottlenecks, optimize transit costs, and build a resilient logistics ecosystem across East Africa.

Key Performance Outcomes

First 90 Days: Map and audit current supply chain touchpoints, optimize safety stock levels across warehousing hubs, and reduce average order fulfillment lead time by 15%.

Core Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end warehouse operations, demand forecasting, stock replenishment, and inventory control.
• Evaluate and manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers, transport fleets, and freight forwarding partners to optimize costs and service quality.
• Implement inventory management systems and tracking mechanics to eliminate stockouts, shrinkage, and surplus waste.
• Streamline import/export clearance workflows, ensuring compliance with KRA, KEBS, and regional customs regulations.
• Establish supply chain risk management protocols to maintain continuous material and product flow across distribution networks.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of operational supply chain, logistics, or inventory management experience within Kenya or East Africa.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or Business Administration.

Professional Certifications: CIPS, KISM, or APICS (CSCP/CPIM) certification preferred.

Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo) and inventory planning software.
