Key Responsibilities
Field Duties
- Assist in measuring land, buildings, and property boundaries
- Help set out boundary markers, building lines, and construction points
- Conduct site inspections and record physical features of land
- Operate and maintain surveying equipment (total station, GPS, levels, tapes)
Office & Documentation Duties
- Assist in preparing survey plans, maps, and drawings
- Record and organize field data accurately
- Help prepare reports for land registration, approvals, and internal use
- Update survey records and databases
Development & Construction Support
- Assist in setting out buildings, roads, and infrastructure
- Monitor site works to ensure compliance with approved plans
- Report discrepancies or issues to the Surveyor
Compliance & Coordination
- Assist in verifying survey information against title deeds and layout plans
- Support applications to land registries and planning authorities
- Liaise with engineers, architects, and real estate staff as required
Health, Safety & Equipment
- Follow site safety rules and company procedures
- Ensure proper handling and care of surveying tools and equipment
- Report equipment damage or safety hazards
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to take accurate measurements
- Basic knowledge of surveying instruments and software
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physical ability to work outdoors for extended periods
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Qualifications:
- Degree / Diploma in Surveying.
- 3 years work experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software is an advantage
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Knowledge of surveying tools and technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have own accommodation in Ndola or be willing to relocate at own cost.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism
- Must have a Clean and Valid Drivers Licence
- Membership to Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors (ZIQS) is an added advantage
